Laziness is something that eats up a person and the organisation he/she works in. There will never be a healthy work culture in an organisation or company whose employees are lazy and lethargic. We don’t find a healthy work culture in government offices due to this lethargic attitude.

The book of Proverbs describes the characters & conditions of these people who are lazy which I found very interesting, thus I am mentioning them as follows with suitable titles:

1. Disgrace to the Sender/Appointee/Employer: “As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy man to those who send him.”

2. Makes False Excuses: “The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets!”

The lazy man says, “There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion is in the streets!”

3. Foolish & Proud: “The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who can answer sensibly.”

4. Have a difficult life: “The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing.”

“The desire of the lazy man kills him, For his hands refuse to labor.”

Don’t you think it is disgusting to be lazy and not to have a good work culture. If we are somewhat like this, let’s change our attitude towards our work. The proverb says again, “How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?” It further instructs, “Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise.”

Yes, Ants are wiser because they have a very organised & toiling work culture. Let’s learn from them.

Stay Blessed!
